Sporting Clube de Portugal, commonly known as Sporting CP or Sporting Lisbon, is a Portuguese professional football club based in Lisbon. Founded on 1 July 1906 by José Alvalade and his grandfather, the club has played its home matches at the Estádio José Alvalade since the current ground opened in 2003 (the second stadium to bear that name).
Sporting CP has won 20 Primeira Liga titles (most recently in 2023-24 under Rúben Amorim), 17 Taça de Portugal titles, and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1964. The club is one of the 'Big Three' of Portuguese football alongside Benfica and Porto, and has never been relegated from the top tier.
