About DR Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo national football team, known as the Leopards, is governed by the Football Federation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FECOFA) and competes in CAF. The team wears blue and yellow and is based in Kinshasa.
As Zaire, the DR Congo became the first sub-Saharan African team to compete at the FIFA World Cup, appearing at the 1974 tournament in West Germany. The Leopards have won the Africa Cup of Nations twice (1968 and 1974) and are historically one of Africa's most prominent football nations. The country has produced top European league players across generations.
