The Germany national football team, Die Mannschaft, is governed by the German Football Association (DFB) and competes in UEFA. The team plays home matches at various venues across Germany and wears white and black.

Germany is one of the most successful nations in international football, having won the FIFA World Cup four times (1954, 1974, 1990, 2014) and the UEFA European Championship three times (1972, 1980, 1996). The 2014 title in Brazil capped a rebuilding era. Germany has produced legendary players including Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Lothar Matthäus, and Thomas Müller.
